Udupi Paryaya 2012
Udupi is called as a temple town and Paryaya a religious
function which takes place every alternative year at Sri Krishna Matha of Udupi.
There is total eight matha’s in Udupi and it called as ashta matha. The puja
and administration of Krishna Matha is distributed among the swamiji of these
Matha. Every Matha get chance to perform Puja by rotation of two years.
2012 Paryaya will be held on 18th of
January and Puja and administration is handed over to Sode Vadiraja Matha.
During this season whole Udupi was decorated with lightings in some special
vocations Ratha (temple car) is pulled around Car Street. The below snaps are
taken on 14th Jan 2012.
